Pre-Requisites
Candidates must have:
- Experience managing all forms of temporary works
- Good understanding of spoken and written English
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including:

- Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

- Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992
- Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
- Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Thorough understanding of health and safety principles, risk management, design considerations, inspection, testing, and monitoring requirements
Course Aim
The TWC Refresher Course focuses on the risk management of temporary works, with emphasis on the role of the Temporary Works Co-Ordinator. It consolidates prior knowledge and provides guidance on avoiding temporary works failure through procedural controls, in line with BS 5975:2019.
This refresher ensures learners maintain a high standard of competence in supervising temporary works and liaising effectively with other site personnel.
