Our Commercial Roof Access Training course is designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely access and work on commercial and agricultural type roofs. The course focuses on working at height safety, correct ladder use, fall protection systems, and compliance with current health and safety legislation.

Course Aim
The aim of this course is to enable learners to understand how to safely access and work on a typical commercial or agricultural roof, while recognising hazards and applying appropriate control measures in line with working at height legislation.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, candidates will be able to:
- Understand legislation, regulations, and guidance affecting work at height
- Demonstrate the safe use of ladders, including multiple methods of stabilising and securing ladders
- Safely use ladders to access and work on commercial-type roofs
- Understand and use roof anchor systems in conjunction with harnesses and lanyards
- Identify and manage hazards associated with skylights and fragile roof elements
- Consider and evaluate alternative access methods for commercial roof work
- Apply safe systems of work to minimise risk to themselves and others
Training & Assessment Methods
- Classroom-based tutorials covering theory, legislation, and best practice
- Practical training and hands-on exercises to reinforce safe roof access techniques
- Ongoing instructor observation throughout the course
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with an ITS Certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
