This essential construction supervisor training course provides the knowledge needed to supervise effectively, prevent accidents, and promote a positive safety culture on site.

- Site supervisors or those about to take on supervisory roles
- Foremen and team leaders in construction or building projects
- Individuals progressing toward the Gold CSR Supervisor Card
It’s ideal for anyone who needs to understand their legal and practical responsibilities to maintain safety and compliance on site.
Pre-Requisite
Candidates must hold (or be enrolled in) an NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision before attending this course.
Course Aim
The aim of the CSR Site Safety for Supervisors training is to provide a solid foundation in health and safety management for construction supervisors.
By developing knowledge of legislation, risk management, and best practice, candidates will be better equipped to ensure safe systems of work across their sites.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will have a strong understanding of:
- Accident prevention and reporting
- CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation
- Fire safety and COSHH awareness
- Noise, PPE, and manual handling procedures
- Safe use of tools and equipment (PUWER, LOLER)
- Working at height, scaffolding, and ladder safety
- Safety in excavations and confined spaces
- Delivering toolbox talks effectively
Training & Assessment Method
The course consists of:
- 4 days of classroom-based learning (1 day per week for 4 weeks)
- Occupational assessment
- Computer-based test
Certification
Upon successful completion, delegates will receive the CSR Site Safety Supervisor Card, valid for 4 years.
To renew your card, you must complete the 1-Day CSR Site Safety for Supervisors Refresher Course within 6 months of the card’s expiry date.
Additional Information
The Construction Skills Register (CSR) is Northern Ireland’s recognised register for construction workers who have completed approved health and safety training.
To achieve the Gold CSR Supervisor Card, candidates must:

Pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Specialist Supervisors (50-minute computer test)
