The Lantra Sector Scheme 12D – T7 course is designed for managers, designers, technical officers, and client officers who oversee Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) installations but do not physically install the systems themselves.
This course is a mandatory requirement for TTM Managers and Technical Officers in accordance with the National Highway Sector Scheme 12D (NHSS 12D). It equips delegates with the knowledge to safely plan, assess, and supervise traffic management works, ensuring compliance with current legal and industry standards.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
- Interpret the Safety at Street Works and Road Works – Red Book and relevant guidance from the Traffic Signs Manual, Chapter 8
- Consider all options to determine the level and extent of TTM required for a work site
- Demonstrate knowledge of site risk assessment processes
- Assess temporary traffic layouts for different work locations and operations
- Understand standards of acceptable equipment for TTM
- Respond to changing site conditions and liaise with site staff for remedial action
- Confirm suitability of TTM plans prior to work commencing
- Consider the needs of non-motorised road users and convoy working requirements
Assessment Method
Delegates complete a classroom-based assessment at the end of the course. A 75% pass mark is required to achieve full M7 certification.
Certification
Successful candidates receive a Lantra Awards certificate, with the option to purchase a card. Refresher training is required every 5 years to maintain validity.
