The Q025 (FCFW1) – Frame Cover Renewal course is designed for operatives working on the Openreach underground network or similar telecoms utilities. This module is essential for anyone involved in renewing frames and covers in the footway, ensuring work is carried out safely, accurately, and to Openreach quality standards.

This training is delivered in Portadown, Northern Ireland, with the option for on-site training for utility contractors, telecoms providers, and civils teams.

Pre-Requisites

To attend Q025 (FCFW1), delegates must hold:

  • SA006 – Safe Working in Civils
  • SWQR Unit LA
  • Unit 01, Unit 02, Unit 03

PPE Requirements

Delegates must bring:

  • Hi-Vis Clothing
  • Safety Boots
  • Safety Helmet
  • Gloves
  • Eye Protection
  • Flame Retardant Clothing (leggings, tops, or overalls)

Failure to bring correct PPE may result in refusal of entry.

Assessment Method

This module uses a combination of:

  • Classroom theory
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Hands-on assessment

Delegates must demonstrate competence in all practical tasks to pass.
