Rescue & Recovery at Height Training provides operatives, supervisors, and managers with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely rescue a worker suspended by a fall arrest lanyard or recover a casualty from height. Effective rescue planning is a legal requirement under the Work at Height Regulations and is critical for minimising injury and preventing suspension trauma during an emergency.

Course Aim
The aim of this course is to train delegates in the correct procedures and techniques for carrying out a rescue at height.
Delegates will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling them to confidently and safely rescue a conscious or unconscious casualty from height using appropriate rescue equipment and methods.

- Fall arrest principles and systems
- Work positioning techniques
- Anchor selection and assessment
- Use of mechanical descenders
- Rescue from height (conscious and unconscious casualties)
- Use of rescue equipment, including casualty immobilisation devices and stretchers
- Rope access and rope rescue techniques
- How to follow and implement a site-specific rescue plan

Delegates must demonstrate both knowledge and practical competence throughout the course.
Certification
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive a SpanSet Certificate, valid for 3 years.
