This training ensures that harness users and those responsible for selecting, inspecting, or supervising harness use understand how to work safely, comply with legislation, and identify defective or unsuitable equipment.

Course Aim
The aim of this course is to provide candidates with the knowledge and understanding required to safely use safety harnesses and associated equipment, identify hazards, and assess the suitability of personal fall protection systems in a range of work at height environments.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, candidates will be able to:
- Identify hazards associated with working at height
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place to comply with current legislation
- Understand harness design, standards, and testing requirements
- Correctly wear a harness in line with manufacturer’s instructions
- Understand fall restraint and fall arrest systems and their applications
- Carry out pre-use harness inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Identify defective or unsuitable equipment and systems
- Understand their responsibilities when using or supervising personal fall protection equipment

Certification
Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, candidates will receive an ITS Certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
