The Tetra Leaning Ladder Level 1–2 Course is designed for operatives who work at height using leaning ladders and require effective fall prevention measures. This course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely use personal fall protection systems while maintaining three points of contact when accessing property elevations.

The training is ideal for those needing to enhance safety compliance when working at height.
Pre-Requisites
All candidates must:
- Have prior training and experience in ladder use and inspection
- Provide and use a Tetra Leaning Ladder Kit
- Be medically fit to attend
- Complete a medical statement sheet prior to training
Course Aim
The aim of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and practical competence required to safely use fall protection equipment with leaning ladders.
Candidates will be introduced to approved personal fall protection systems, enabling them to:
- Prevent falls
- Maintain three points of contact
- Access property elevations safely and compliantly
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to:
- Demonstrate awareness of UK legislation, including the Work at Height Regulations
- Understand the difference between fall arrest and work restraint systems
- Identify the importance of correct anchorage selection
- Fit, use, and carry out user inspections of fall protection equipment
- Apply correct portable leaning ladder access procedures
- Secure ladders and equipment safely
- Complete practical ladder exercises at heights of up to approximately 6 metres (guidance height)
- Demonstrate self-rescue awareness
- Confirm knowledge through a written assessment
Assessment Method
The course includes:
- Practical assessment demonstrating safe ladder and fall protection use
- Written assessment to confirm understanding of course content
Both elements must be successfully completed to achieve certification.
Certification
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive:
Tetra Leaning Ladder Level 1–2 Certificate
Certification validity: 3 years
