Whether you are just starting out or refreshing your skills, our qualified instructors will guide you through the full tractor driving process from basic manoeuvring to using implements, trailers and PTO shafts.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, delegates will be able to:
- Carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment
- Mount and dismount the tractor safely
- Understand tractor instrumentation and controls
- Recognise hazards associated with tractor operation
- Perform daily and pre-use checks
- Start and stop the engine safely
- Drive competently forwards and in reverse
- Park and secure the tractor safely
- Check lubrication, cooling and air intake systems
- Prepare the tractor for safe road use
- Attach mounted implements and manoeuvre safely
- Attach trailed implements and manoeuvre safely
- Leave unattached implements in a safe condition
- Correctly attach PTO shafts and guards
- Assess PTO shaft angles and turning circles
- Carry out basic loader operations using a tractor-mounted front loader
Certification
Successful candidates will receive a LANTRA Certificate of Training, confirming competence in tractor operation.
